Influences

After I completed the editing of my music video, I needed to start thinking about my Digi-Pak.
The kind of genre of my music video is an indie theme. The type of style I was going for was similar to those of The Drums, Mystery Jets, and Vampire Weekend. The styling looks like they have filmed the video themselves and it looks quite raw in comparison to other music videos which have heavy visual effects.

The song I chose for my music video is a more dated song then some of the other songs students in my class. This prompted me to look at older album covers, such as Blondie and The Smiths.
Examples are below:

I then looked at more recent album covers with the same simplicity. Below are some examples from Indie bands such as Vampire Weekends and The Drums:

These album covers mirror the style of my music video, as I feel that my music video is quite simple, with only a few minor effects featured. I wish to have my Digi-Pak in the same style as those above, with just a simple picture and bold writing over the top.

I feel that by having this simple style, it adds impact to the front cover, possibly more so then covers that are crowded with pictures, colours and text. Also, by having a picture like the one on Vampire Weekend's 'Contra' featured above, it is the direct mode of address and grabs potential buyers attention.
